SenRa and myDevices Collaborate to Boost Digital India by Introducing "IoT in a Box"

As the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow exponentially across India, companies are finding a way to integrate IoT technology into their business strategies to increase profits, improve quality of life, and attract customers through technology innovation.

SenRa, one of the largest and fastest-growing Low Power Wide Area Network Providers (LPWAN) in India, specializing in providing IoT end-to-end solutions, announced this week it has collaborated with myDevices to launch the “IoT in a Box” with a solution focusing on end-to-end commercial refrigeration monitoring and management.

Recently, the IoT India Expo 2019 in India, focused on the fast-growing IoT infrastructure in the country, and provided an opportunity for industry leaders to discuss the latest trends and disruptions impacting various industry verticals.

With over 90 million commercial refrigeration units in operation around the world, the global demand for commercial refrigeration equipment is expected to increase 4.5% each year through 2020. Specifically, in India, cooling demand is expected to increase 8 times within 20 years.

The “IoT in a Box” commercial refrigeration monitoring offering is expected to drive IoT adoption into industries such as retail, supply chain management, logistics, healthcare, and even hospitality.

IoT technology is integrated into commercial refrigeration units to provide more robust monitoring capabilities and place greater control into the hands of operators.  In doing so, IoT technology has enabled increased efficiency gains in commercial refrigeration units, resulting in cost reductions for the end-user.

IoT integration into commercial refrigeration provides real-time monitoring of parameters like temperature, humidity, and system usage. It also enables management to interact with their systems remotely through mobile apps, saving time and manpower.

The myDevices “IoT in a Box” solution when integrated with SenRa’s LoRaWAN network claims to allow businesses like pharmaceutical labs, supermarkets, corporate cafeterias, restaurants, hospitals, and food manufacturing units to better monitor and manage their refrigerators and deep-freezing units remotely and in real-time.

This solution includes a simple plug-and-play package and provides real insights, reports, and text messages.

The advantages of IoT integration in refrigeration are limitless. Through the insights provided by an IoT integrated refrigeration unit, management will be able to schedule periodic maintenance on their units. This will not only reduce maintenance costs but also minimize downtime and equipment failure impacts.

“We are excited to bring myDevices “IoT in a Box™” solution offerings to the Indian market.” said Ali Hosseini, CEO of SenRa. “This collaboration will allow us to increase adoption of LoRaWAN™ in India and in its mainstream market. “IoT in a Box™” is an off-the-shelf solution which will rapidly enable digitalization PAN India.”

myDevices' IoT in a Box pre-packaged solutions empower SenRa to immediately offer out-of-the-box, LoRa technology products that can expand to many verticals across a variety of industries, including automated temperature monitoring for hospitals, hotels, and food service organizations.” said Kevin Bromber, CEO and Founder of myDevices. “Businesses worldwide are required by law to monitor refrigeration temperatures for perishable goods. With IoT in a Box, they can automatically ensure food safety and reduce inventory loss, significantly reducing labor and operational costs associated with manual monitoring.”

SenRa and myDevices last year announced their collaboration to provide SenRa’s commercial grade network with myDevices IoT ‘Cayenne’ platform to simplify the creation, development, and deployment of end-to-end solutions in a growing India IoT market.  The launch of “IoT in a Box” in India is yet another major milestone for the companies continued collaboration.
